Unraveling the Mystery of the Teenage Brain
This was formerly titled: Unraveling the Mystery of the Teenage Brain: Understanding and Working with Junior High School Students (2013-14)
This 3 part presentation is designed to provide you strategies to promote positive behavior in your classroom.
- Presentation 1 helps you to consider new ideas for encouraging compassion and connection in the classroom by reviewing various brain and developmental processes underlying teenage behaviour (14 minutes)
- Presentation 2 reviews the important of self-observation and self-awareness in regulating emotion, as well as, discussing activities which may help students become more self-aware and self-regulated (15 minutes)
- Presentation 3 allows you to reflect about your classroom and your students’ lives and the levels of inspiration and connection to help your students satisfy their natural longing for connection in positive and productive ways (21 minutes)
